Hope Church – Spiritual Development Classes

June 2 – September 29, 2010

The Evangelical Movement in America has been labeled as having “growth without depth.”   In a genuine religious revival, people experience the power and purity of the eternal message, and the church experiences “growth with depth.” At Hope Church, we desire to prepare sold-out disciples who have caught Hope’s vision of “Engaging the Culture with the Truth of the Gospel.”  For the vision to continue to unfold, we will need the incomparable power of the Holy Spirit, combined with knowledge and application of the Word, disciplined prayer, fasting, and worship.  “Revive” means to be “re-invigorated, awakened, renewed and made alive.  As this occurs, believers experience order, purity and wholeness in their personal lives, and the corporate church experiences  renewed faithfulness, fire and passion to fulfill the Great Commission.  This series is for “such a time as this!”  Let’s believe for “growth and depth” at Hope!  Join us and experience “REVIVE!”

June 2 – 23 – HOW TO STUDY THE BIBLE

Teachers/presenters include: 

Pastor Darrell Bucher, Nona Anderson, Barb Fish, Pastor Sharon Weatherly

This class will give insight into all the tools that can assist you in your study of the Bible,  as well as give personal examples of how individuals study the Bible.  Not only will you learn the mechanics of Bible study, but this session will create a renewed appetite to study, understand and apply the Word of God.

June 30 – July 21 –  THE PRAYER FORCE!

Teachers/presenters include:

Chuck & Shirlee Sharp, Bob and Jan Putnam, Michelle Burlile,  Nona Anderson, Michelle Crespo and Pastor Sharon.Weatherly

Moving from “How to Study the Bible,” we will learn various aspects of prayer and its purpose, including Intercession; Praying for your children/family, backsliders and the unsaved;  how to pray, why to pray, and  fasting and prayer that brings REVIVAL!  

July 28 – Sept 29 – REVIVE US AGAIN!

What is revival?  What is its purpose? What has it looked like in the past?  What will it look like in this day? What is true revival versus false revival? What role does worship play in revival? How does the Book of Acts depict genuine revival?  This 10 week wrap-up of REVIVE, will answer all of these questions and more.  As we understand and embrace these various aspects of being awakened in this last hour, we expect to be REVIVED and move into the ever-fresh, ever fragrant power of an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.  The result? Being thrust more fully into daily “living out” the Gospel, while reaping the End Times harvest with renewed strength, determination and fervor!  REVIVE US AGAIN O LORD!
